Why is UK productivity so low?

Low wages, cuts to public investment, a fundamental shift in the industries that make up its economy, and Brexit are a few of the causes of the UK’s productivity crisis, according to economists.

At interlude, we – like many others – understand that productivity is fundamentally about people, and that when people aren’t able to feel their best, their ability to deliver will suffer. We believe that systemic wellbeing issues in the UK workforce are a key contributor to our productivity crisis.
